MaineHealth Government Affairs’ Regulatory Changes & Guidance Updates is an internal newsletter that is distributed weekly and includes state and federal proposed and final rules, policy changes, and other pertinent announcements from the state and federal governments. Please note that any formal submissions to the state or federal government on behalf of MaineHealth are coordinated by the Government Affairs Team.

State Programs & Announcements

  • OMS published the annual rate adjustment for Section 60, Durable Medical Equipment and Supplies.
  • OMS will be hosting a listening session on May 1 regarding Nursing Facility rates for individuals with brain injury or medical-psychiatric needs.
  • OMS announced that MaineCare's Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment Program for children and youth has been renamed VitalCare for Kids.
  • DHHS announced that the Behavioral Health Professional Training will transition to the University of Maine beginning July 1.

Federal Programs & Announcements

  • The American Hospital Association has compiled a tracker of the actions the Trump administration has taken that may be of interest to hospitals and health systems. The tracker will be updated regularly as new actions are released; we are also including information about ongoing litigation for key actions. The most recent version of the tracker can be found on the Government Affairs SharePoint site.
  • Government Affairs is compiling information relating to the impact at MaineHealth of changes to grants and operations as a result of executive orders or other federal action. Please complete this form to report any changes.
