Announcements & Reminders

Names Registry Updated to Include Infor Information

As part of the rebrand project earlier this year, the Names Registry was launched, which is a reference guide for MaineHealth department, campus and local health system rebranded names.

We are excited to share that the Names Registry has been updated to now show Infor Department names and numbers! Care team members can search for their department names as usual, and they will see both the Lawson department name and number and the new Infor department name and number. Please see image for an example referencing the Human Resources department names for MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland.

Updated Environment of Care Policies

The Southern Region Environment of Care Committee has recently updated two policies: the Southern Region Refrigerator-Freezer Temperature Policy, which has updated forms associated with it, and the Southern Region Laser Safety and Requirements for Authorization of Medical Laser Use/Operator Policy, which has been comprehensively rewritten.

Both policies can be found within the Southern Region manual in MCN Policy Manager. Please review these policy changes at your earliest convenience. For questions, please email Missi Tracy.

Help Patients Losing MaineCare Stay Covered

Due to MaineCare unwinding, many Mainers will be losing their health insurance through Medicaid and will need to find an alternative. These Mainers will become potential Marketplace consumers and will need to know how and when to apply and who is eligible.

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services is working to assist people that might lose their coverage during the Medicare unwinding process. Help our patients find coverage by encouraging them to visit Coverme.gov. Access to Care location information can be viewed here. Open enrollment begins November 1 and runs until January 15, 2025.

Care Team Well-being

This Fall, Spend Time in Nature

Did you know, spending time in nature can help relieve stress and anxiety, improve your mood and boost feelings of happiness and wellness?

If you’re feeling blue, try going outside to green, natural spaces. Frequent exposure to nature helps memory and reduces anxiety and depression, while promoting a sense of well-being and fulfillment. Physical activity in a green space can reduce stress and lower cortisol levels by up to 15 percent. Check out these resources for more information:
