DEI Roundtable: Challenges and Coping Strategies for Women Scientists: Part Two-Mentoring

Please consider joining the DEI Roundtable: Challenges and Coping Strategies for Women Scientists: Part Two-Mentoring on 9/10/2024 at 1:00pmET.

In this hour-long online panel discussion, we will hear from early- and mid-career scientists who will discuss their experiences either identifying as, or mentoring, women in science and research. Are there still glass ceilings for women scientists, and how can we create more effective mentoring to help women successfully break through those barriers? How can we consider the intersection of other forms of inequity in creating better mentorship for women in science? What are other ways that we can effect change to improve the experiences of women scientists? The panel discussion will feature Mete Civelek, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Karen Hirschi, Ph.D., Alumni Professor of Cell Biology, both from the University of Virginia and will be moderated by Assistant Professors Jennifer Fang, Ph.D., Tulane University and Marie Guerraty, MD, Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania,
