Upcoming Events:

TOMORROW 1/30; 11:30am: MHIR DEI Group hosts Dr. Bonnie Swenor

Please email us if you don’t have the invite already and we will add you!

Dr. Swenor is the director of the Johns Hopkins Disability Health Research Center, which aims to shift the paradigm from ‘living with a disability’ to ‘thriving with a disability’ through research, education, and policy.  In anticipation of this meeting, we have provided some suggested readings:

  • Swenor BK. Including disability in all health equity efforts: an urgent call to action. Lancet Public Health. 2021 Jun;6(6):e359-e360. doi: 10.1016/S2468-2667(21)00115-8. PMID: 34051160
  • Swenor B, Meeks LM. Disability Inclusion - Moving Beyond Mission Statements. N Engl J Med. 2019 May 30;380(22):2089-2091. doi: 10.1056/NEJMp1900348. PMID: 31141629.
