More Online Scheduling Options Available Soon for Primary Care Patients

https://comms.mainehealth.org/PoliteMail/images/Small-MyChart-2C.jpgIn September 2022, the MaineHealth Medical Group launched new Epic/MyChart functionality to allow patients to self-schedule limited primary care appointments in MyChart. Since then, primary care has been hard at work to establish regional standards for schedules in order to support our next phase of this project.

Beginning June 6, patients will be able to self-schedule wellness exams and immunizations, as well as office visits for new or existing health issues. If there is an existing order, some imaging exams such as mammograms and bone density screenings will also be available to self-schedule in MyChart, and X-rays and other types of diagnostic imaging will be added in the coming weeks as well.

Online scheduling makes it easier for patients to get the care they need, while improving the experience for all! Read more

Culture Research Findings Support New Recruitment Messages

https://comms.mainehealth.org/PoliteMail/images/Onboarding-2C.pngThe MaineHealth Talent Acquisition team recently partnered with the Marketing and Communications team to enhance the ability to attract, hire and retain MaineHealth care team members and increase interest in MaineHealth as an employer. Both teams shared expertise and resources to develop and launch a recruitment advertising campaign, which starts today. The new campaign is also based on insights from workplace culture research – thanks to care team member feedback through the culture survey, which was conducted at end of last year.

The workplace culture research was designed to help us better understand how care team members perceive MaineHealth’s culture and values to help inform the development of an employer brand positioning. Research revealed that MaineHealth care team members feel valued and supported by one another, and see the collective vision that MaineHealth is working towards every day.

Innovation 101: Talk to Your Users

https://comms.mainehealth.org/PoliteMail/images/speech-bubbles2.jpgWhen designing an innovation that solves a problem, it’s important to identify those who are impacted. By identifying these people, you’ve now created a list of references for your project.

Talking to Humans by Giff Constable is a quick, easy to follow guide on how to talk to potential users, customers and other stakeholders about your idea. The guide provides you with simple prompts for asking open-ended questions, and encourages listening carefully to gain insights into your stakeholder’s needs. The goal is to build your innovation on a foundation of understanding your end user.
