MMC Vaccine Program Update, Clinic Reminders

MMC’s care team vaccination program continues to make progress. A total of 6,141 colleagues have now been vaccinated, or approximately 50 percent of all colleagues.

Yesterday, we emailed eligibility notification to our final group of eligible colleagues. As a reminder, this group includes administrative and off-site colleagues. Groups such as IT and MMCRI will receive vaccinations at 340 County Road in Westbrook. Others from MMC, NorDx and MH will be vaccinated at the Bramhall Dana Center.  The location will be displayed in the information sent by email and the confirmation information.

There is plenty of capacity today and we encourage individuals to schedule appointments as soon as possible. These time-limited clinics are currently set up for MaineHealth care team members only, so will be the most convenient opportunity for you to receive the vaccine. When the clinics are expanded to include patients in the near future, it may be much more difficult to obtain a convenient appointment.

Questions should be sent by email to mmccovidvaccine@mainehealth.org

Reminders for your vaccination appointment

·         Once you receive notification of eligibility please sign up for your clinic appointment without delay.

·         If you can no longer make your appointment, please go back to your original confirmation email and click “edit my sign up.” From there you can delete or change an appointment. No shows prevent colleagues from receiving timely access to vaccination and create risk of wasting vaccine supplies.

·         If you missed your initial sign up window, you can email mmccovidvaccine@mainehealth.org to reset your scheduling window.

·         Please download and complete the consent forms and other paperwork using the link in your confirmation notification before your appointment. This supports social distancing and efficiency.

Thank you to all of our colleagues as we work to administer vaccines as safely, quickly and efficiently as possible.

Congratulations to our Nursing Excellence Award Winners!

Recently, MMC Chief Nursing Officer Devin Carr, RN, participated in unit-based celebrations of this year’s Nursing Excellence Awards. Typically, we would hold a large celebration in the Dana Center to acknowledge these extraordinary nurses and interprofessional teams. Instead, we invite you to share in your colleagues’ celebrations virtually.

You can view the individual Nursing Excellence Awards here.

The video of the team awards can be found here.

Wellbeing Corner
A daily update from the COVID-19 Colleague Wellbeing Committee.

Whether or not we believe in a deity, the motif of light (and darkness) is as old as humanity’s consciousness. We are wired to yearn for hope and move away from isolation, sorrow, grief, and despair.  All are a part of the great mysteries of life. Perhaps, during this season of the early darkness and long nights, we can connect with the humanity of old and re-cast why we celebrate Light: It is to bring hope and healing for all.

We wish all of our colleagues every happiness and a much brighter horizon in 2021.  The lyrics of this song from the 2020 MMC Remembrance Ceremony Choir resonate with that wish.

Happy New Year!

COVID-19 Reminders

COVID-19 Vaccination Update from Dec. 30

A message from Dora Anne Mills, MD, MaineHealth Chief Health Improvement Officer

Dear Colleagues,

We have been making good progress in vaccinating our care teams against COVID-19 over the past two weeks. To date we have vaccinated about 9,000 care team members across the health system and are better positioned each day to care for our patients and one another.

If you have already received or scheduled your vaccination – thank you!

If you have received an invitation but have not yet scheduled your COVID-19 vaccine, please do so today. These time-limited clinics are currently set up for MaineHealth care team members only, so will be the most convenient opportunity for you to receive the vaccine. When the clinics are expanded to include patients in the near future, it may be much more difficult to obtain a convenient appointment.

For helpful links to trusted sources of information about the safety and efficacy of the vaccines, please visit the COVID vaccine info page. If you have questions, email mmccovidvaccine@mainehealth.org.

Thank you for all you are doing to maintain our readiness to care for our patients and enhance the safety of our colleagues.

Sincerely,

Dora Anne Mills, MD, MPH, FAAP

Chief Health Improvement Officer

MaineHealth
