Fall & Winter CSA Available Through Wolf Pine Farm
Interested in having local, organic produce and supporting a local farm through the winter? Wolf Pine Farm is partnering with MMCRI again this year to provide six rounds of share boxes that are delivered from October to February, approximately every 3 weeks, and contain foods grown at Wolf Pine Farm and a number of partner farms. When you sign up for a share you can expect a wide array of traditional winter storage vegetables combined with greenhouse-grown greens, apples, frozen blueberries, eggs, and occasional grains, breads, or other items to round out the share. Boxed shares will be available at 81 Research Drive or you can choose to pickup at one of our delivery locations near the town where you live. The farm delivers to public pickup sites in Biddeford, Scarborough, South Portland, Portland, Falmouth, Yarmouth, Gray, and Westbrook. New MHIR staff introduction - Melissa Sassman

Melissa is a Maine native and grew up in Saco. Though she has traveled and lived or spent considerable time in Kansas, Virginia, and Washington D.C., nothing compares to Maine. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Southern Maine. Her Master’s was completed under the guidance of Dr. Doug Currie who studies developmental neurobiology and the effects of various toxins and toxicants on cells of the nervous system. She taught at USM for 10 years before leaving academia to get back into the lab. She is very excited to be a part of Dr. Rosato’s Lab.  Melissa LOVES to eat, read, go for walks and hikes with her dogs, and do yoga. She is also licensed to sell real estate and is a certified yoga instructor!
